Penalty points in Formula 1: this driver is the closest to a suspension

Pierre Gasly had to watch out for weeks in 2023: if he would have been penalised, he would have accumulated so many penalty points that a suspension awaited him. Indeed, in Formula 1, if 12 penalty points are accumulated during the period of the last 12 months, one Grand Prix must be sat out by the driver. After exactly 12 months of receiving it, a penalty point expires again.
