Dr Helmut Marko has revealed that he will soon have discussionswith Red Bull over his position in the team beyond 2024. Marko hasoverseen Red Bull's driver development programme and has handednumerous debut opportunities to F1 drivers, including several onthe current grid. The Austrian has been part of Red Bull's set-upsince it joined the grid in 2005 but the 80-year-old's current dealexpires at the end of next year. Speaking to oe24 , Marko hintedthat his future within the organisation will soon be resolved.“There will be talks next week,” he said. “There are differenttrends and variants. “The decisions are still open - including whatI will do next. My current contract runs until the end of 2024.”Marko will engage in talks with Red Bull's new managementstructure, which shifted after the death of company co-founderDietrich Mateshitz, who passed away last year. “It's now anextended group of people, including Mark Mateschitz, the Thais andOliver Mintzlaff,” Marko said. The Austrian added that he is upsetthat Mateschitz was unable to see Red Bull's dominant season in2023 when it won 21 out of the 22 races. “The way we used to beable to decide things with Dietrich Mateschitz was unique. “Afterthis winning season, which put everything else the shade, I wasincredibly sorry that he was no longer able to experience it.”
